Pencil & Daydreams: Lara’s Place for Storytelling
Every writer starts somewhere, and this is her beginning. I’m so excited to see her explore, create, and share her stories with the world!
.
Today’s post is a small ask and a personal share—here’s a little look into some of the creativity happening in my home.
Lara (my teen daughter) has enjoyed creative writing for a while. This year her writing has taken off and grown exponentially. When I was reading one of her pieces the other day I commented that it was something that she should post for others to read. After bouncing around some ideas we decided to try Substack.
She enjoys writing small fiction pieces that have people and places she finds fascinating.
Here is her description:
Pencil & Daydreams is a place for anyone who loves fiction that sparks the imagination.
Every week, I’ll share a new short story inspired by a feeling—whether it’s the warmth of a cozy afternoon, the thrill of an adventure, or a touch of everyday magic. Each story is a chance to step into a new world, and I hope you’ll enjoy exploring them as much as I love writing them!

As a mom and an educator, I see myself as a creator of magic and a facilitator of opportunities. I want to provide my kids and teens with a variety of experiences to try new things and expand their skills.
I am excited to see Lara begin this fun journey on Substack and put her work out there for others to enjoy. It’s inspiring to see her take ownership of her creativity and connect with others who love stories as much as she does.
Creativity thrives when it’s shared and supported, and I’m so proud of Lara for taking this step!
Your support means the world to us—whether you subscribe, share a kind word, or simply enjoy reading along. 😁
