Today is a super quick post. 😁
I am prepping my query letter and book proposal to send out to agents and I would love some input and ideas from you all!
Here is what I currently have:
Working Title and Subtitle
- Title: Subtle Resistance
- Subtitle: Live Deliberately & Avoid Overwhelm
I am very happy with my working title and I feel that is serves its purpose for my book.
Here is a page from just after the Table of Contents with my definitions:
Here is a quick book summary:
My book is an encouraging guide to restful productivity. Women navigating adulthood feel torn, overwhelmed, and defeated.
Subtle Resistance is a compassionate non-fiction guide to help women navigate the complexities of adulthood with empathy and practicality. The completed manuscript has insights drawn from years of research providing relatable anecdotes, raw journal entries, and humorous footnotes.
The reader sees the character arc of change as I heal from burnout and apply each chapter’s strategies to my busy overachiever lifestyle. Subtle Resistance provides broad view of strategies to challenge self-limiting beliefs, embrace self-compassion, make space for rest, and prioritize planning for a more balanced and fulfilling life.
Subtle Resistance is a kind companion for busy women who do not have time to read a massive stack of self-help books.
Subtitle help needed:
Where I am feeling stuck is my working subtitle.
It has changed over time and I have never quite felt like something clicked.
The subtitle needs to expand on (in a few words) what the book is about and grab attention.
I would love your thoughts!😁📝

Here’s to walking with me as I take steps closer on the path to publishing!! 🙌🥳
I really do like Live Deliberately and Avoid Overwhelm. Made me think:
“I am resisting the urge to say YES to everything, (which is very challenging for me:) and in so doing I’d avoid overwhelm!” Kinda succinct and I get it immediately.
My favorites are these ones!
o Embrace Self-Compassion and Rest in a Busy World
o Navigating Adulthood with Empathy & Practicality
